Jason Shoaf is North Florida’s State Representative. In this role, he is committed to fighting for the region’s comeback from COVID and Hurricane Michael. To that end, he has secured tens of millions in state funding for rebuilding and recovery of homes, businesses and infrastructure.

He is a champion for North Florida’s law enforcement and corrections officers, and he works to ensure they have the resources they need to keep our communities safe.

Shoaf believes that every Floridian should have their chance at the American Dream, and he works to expand access to education, skills and training opportunities so that anyone who works hard can pursue and succeed in good-paying careers.

During the 2021 legislative session, Shoaf was appointed by House Speaker Chris Sprowls to serve as Vice Chair on the Secondary Education and Career Development Appropriations Subcommittee. He also served on the Commerce Committee, Ways & Means Committee, Government Operations Appropriations Subcommittee, and Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee.

First elected in a 2019 Special Election to fill a vacant seat, Shoaf represents House District 7, which includes Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla Counties. Shoaf was reelected in November 2020.

Outside of his role in public service, Shoaf is the vice president in the St. Joe Natural Gas Company, the provider of natural gas and propane in Port St. Joe. He is also the owner of two businesses he created: Gulf South Self Storage and Alliance Property Management.

Prior to being elected, Shoaf served as one of seven members of the Triumph Gulf Coast Board of Directors, an appointment made in 2017 by then-Senate President Joe Negron. As part of Triumph Gulf Coast, he oversaw the distribution of funds to the people, businesses and community organizations of Florida’s Gulf Coast as a result of the economic damages suffered following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Shoaf and his wife Ashley of nearly 20 years live in Port St. Joe with their 12-year old twins.
